My quest as a serious painter began in the late 1970’s. My medium of choice was watercolor. Approximately ten years ago I began painting in oils as well. I enjoy the diversity of the two media and now spend about equal time on each.
For the most part my paintings are done in the studio. As I begin a painting I use material I have photographed or sketched on my travels to launch ideas. As the process continues I am concerned with making a painting that is well designed with interesting paint quality and bit of the unexpected.
These paintings represent where I am as I continue to develop as an artist. My efforts are spent on designing paintings I feel will intrigue the viewer.
